Introducing BilbiWare

Welcome to the Blog Spot of the BilbiWare Community Register software. This is a custom-built database management program, which was designed to meet the particular needs of the Bellarine Police Community Support Register Inc.
It provides a wealth of functionality with unique capabilities and a surprisingly small footprint on a modest PC platform. Its latest version has now been adapted for use by any other community support registers throughout Australia.
Licensing to other Community Support Registers in Australia
The Bellarine Police Community Support Register Inc. (BPCSR) is the appointed distributor for this software. The Committee of the BPCSR determines the price for a site license for the software from time to time. This fee constitutes a means of raising funds for the BPCSR and does not benefit the author, other than to defray his expenses in connection with installing and maintaining the software, and training an administrator in the new sites.
The BPCSR will supply a numbered copy of the software to the new user, together with a copy of the manuals, protocols and forms currently used by the BPCSR. A nominated representative of the BPCSR will install the software on the users’ PCs and train a site administrator.

Alternatively, the licensee can opt to receive an installation disk with a setup instruction document and install and format the program themselves. The disk will also contain detailed illustrated manuals will be for the use of the program.

The site administrator will then be responsible for maintaining the system, and for training volunteer users.
Telephone and e-mail back-up will be provided by the BPCSR for an agreed time.
The material is supplied on the written undertaking of the new user not to copy and hand out such copies to other non-licensed parties.

Before deciding to apply, an interested Community Support Register would have to be aware of the following:

Software Compatibility
The software was developed to be compatible with Microsoft Access 2003. Microsoft Access 2007 also reads the data tables.
Operating System Dependence
The BilbiWare software was written on the Microsoft Windows XP operating system. Windows Vista or Windows 7 also run our program reliably.
Program Components
Click the BilbiWare Website link below to read up on all the features of the program. In summary, it contains data tables to record details of registrants, doctors, chemists and other care organisations (and their services) as used by your registrants. The program allows you to record the following details of registrants:

    - full name, gender, address, phone numbers, e-mail and website
    - date of birth, country of birth and language spoken at home
    - note link to an health emergency alarm service
    - name and address of doctor and chemist
    - illnesses, allergies and disabilities, as well as vital medication
    - names, addresses and phone details of two emergency contact   perso ns (next of kin)
    - name, address and phone details of someone who has a key to the house
    - location and access code of a keysafe outside the home
    - requests for telephone care calls from the register (periodic or on a set day, week and month)
    - what pets are in the home and who looks after them if registrant is unable to care for them
    - the program stores a photo of the registrant
A simple mouse click allows access to all registrants sharing the same address
- a simple mouse click toggles the user to the registrant's doctor and chemist record
The program prints out
    - daily call sheets
    - three sizes of envelopes
    - the registrant's photo
    - the full record for the paper file
    - an ID card
    - monthly and cumulative statistics
The program allows you to filter out groups of registrants by multiple choices, such as gender, age group, location of residence and 12 other characteristics (e.g. lives alone, has illness, has no next of kin etc). These lists can be printed or used to print address labels or for mail merging.

The program also runs an internal audit to repair faulty and incomplete fields 'behind the scene', and to print out other errors and omissions for your attention.
User Requested Changes to the BilbiWare Program
If a new client register adopts the format of the registration form used by the BPCSR, the software is usable in its present form. However, any change would require some re-programming of the database and of the BilbiWare Program, and would increase the lead time of delivery and installation. An extra fee would have to be charged for this type of work.
